The gastronomy of the Azores is rich in flavors. The many traditional recipes of Azorean cuisine will surely delight connoisseurs of good food.

Fish

Fish and seafood are kings, and the Azores are paradise, existing both in quality and in abundance. Lightly salted tuna, with soft flavor and textures, slightly pink. Octopus, unique shellfish like limpets, barnacles or chips that is a kind of tender and tasty lobster, sinful up! In fact, they follow fish and seafood from the Azores every day to some of the best restaurants in New York and other overseas stops.

Meat

If fish and seafood are kings, meatis are queens! We have meat of excellent quality, of cattle fed on pastures (such happy cows). Dairy products are unmatched in the world, with Azorean cheeses winning several international awards. The famous Alcatra, traditional in clay alguidar, the also famous Cozido das Furnas that is cooked under the ground.

Now we take all this and join the secular traditions, which allied to the spices that came in the nations coming from the East Indies, Americas and Africa confer a unique hue and richness in the world.
