Departure through the South Coast road towards the city of Praia da Vitória. Passing through Porto Judeu, Salga, Salgueiros, São Sebastião, Serra do Cume and the interior of the island. Lunch (drinks included). In the afternoon we will drive through the interior of the island observing hydrangeas and herds of cattle, including the bulls used in the typical bullfights, passing by Furnas do Enxofre, Algar do Carvão (optional visit) and Biscoitos. Return to Angra with stops at various viewpoints to observe various scenarios of the island and, in the distance, the neighboring São Jorge and Pico. Stop at a regional cheese factory. Transfer to the airport and flight to Horta, Faial Island. Departure towards Castelo Branco, having as companion the green Serra da Feteira. Continue to Varadouro, a magnificent bay with hot springs and natural pools. Walk through the area and a short visit to the Capelo Forest Park. Continue to Ponta dos Capelinhos, where the landscape was completely changed with the houses and fields being covered by the volcanic ash of the 1957/58 eruption. Continue to the Caldeira, in the central area, 400m deep and 2kms in diameter surrounded by lush vegetation. Descent to the Espalamaca lookout point, with a magnificent view over Horta, its marina and the promontory of Monte Queimado and Monte da Guia. Lunch before or after the tour, according to flight schedule. Departure from Horta pier to cross the channel to Pico Island (20minutes). Arrival in Madalena and start of the visit: Cabeço do Chão, Arcos do Cachorro and the “mysteries” area (extensive lava fields). After passing through São Roque we will continue through the interior of the island to Lagoa do Capitão and Lajes. Lunch and visit to this old whaling center, the first place on the island to be populated with entrance included in the Whalers Museum. Return to Madalena by the south road, visiting São Mateus Church, lace house and cheese factory. Return to Faial by ferry in the late afternoon. Accommodation.

Transfer to the airport flight to Ponta Delgada, S. Miguel Island. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Departure towards Pico da Barrosa, up the southern slope, stopping at the top with a magnificent view over the island. Descent along the north coast to the viewpoint of Lagoa do Fogo, at the bottom of the crater of an extinct volcano, with white sand beaches and calm waters. Continue to Ribeira Grande to visit the Church of Nossa Senhora da Estrela and Ethnographic Museum. Continue to the viewpoint of Sta. Iria, plantations and Gorreana tea factory, plateau of Achada das Furnas and viewpoint of Pico do Ferro, from where you can see a breathtaking landscape of the largest and oldest volcanic crater inside which lies Furnas Lagoon and hot springs. Descent to the lake to see the “cozido” (stew) unearthed, that has been cooking underground for 6 hours, and lunch at the village of Furnas. Walk in the Terra Nostra Park, with a great variety of botanical species and a thermal park. Continue to “Caldeiras”, an area of volcanic manifestations. Continuation by the road that goes around Furnas Lake, passing by Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of the island, the beaches of Água d’Alto and Milícias. Lodging.
